Holden Desk

The Holden collection is growing, and the Holden Desk has had a makeover.

Originally in mappa burr, the bedside is now also available wrapped in a richly toned Birdseye Maple veneer in Juniper and Garnet. These new finishes shimmer with natural character. Taking its name from the swirling eye-like pattern within the grain, the Birdseye veneer is stained in Juniper, a deep, arresting green, or bold, mulberry-toned Garnet.

A wonderful contemporary writing desk, designed in a beautifully characterful burr wood finish. With a concealed central drawer to hide everything away, this kidney shaped desk works brilliantly in a bay window and makes working from home all the more worth it. If you're not in need of a desk, why not try this piece in a bedroom as a dressing table.

Named after Charles Holden, who played a big role in shaping the changing face of London from the 1920's to 30's by designing a host of modernist, ground-breaking Underground Stations, the Holden Collection is one of our most arresting and contemporary ranges yet.

The nature of burr means that every piece has unique natural characteristics; the mappa burr is a particularly delicate burr so the natural markings from the tree are very apparent. Where the veneer runs thinner in parts a protective sealant is applied to level the surface and ensure no damage occurs later in life.  Each bedside is therefore a wash with its own personality.
